MySQL is an alternative way of storing data to standard text files, which is commonly used on larger server or networks. One of the many advantages of MySQL is the ability to store large files, which some plugins such as Dynmap and McMMO are known to create.
Setting up your MySQL Database:
1. Head over to your server's control panel.
2. Once in your control panel, you should see the "Advanced" option on your left, click "Advanced", followed by "MySQL Database".
3. If you do not yet own a MySQL Database, you'll need to create one. Fortunately, this is as easy as clicking "Create Database".
4. You'll now be presented with your login information for your MySQL Database, which you can then use when configuring plugins which support MySQL.
